Now accepting applications!!

Thanks to the generous support of the curling community the 2017 For the Love of Curling Scholarship program will award thirteen deserving recipients with scholarships that will help further their academic and athletic ambitions!

We’re proud to be an inclusive sport that recognizes the value of our young athletes as they work to balance the challenging demands of academic and athletic priorities.

Through our For the Love of Curling scholarship program the curling community across Canada plays an active role in supporting the next generation of passionate, talented and caring curlers.

Joyce Myers Trust Fund Applications Now Open

The board of Trustees of the Joyce Myers Trust Fund is now accepting applications for the Scholarship Fund, Capital Acquisition and Program Initiative.  Individuals wishing to apply for one or more of the incentives must do so on or before May 15, 2017.  Descriptions of each incentive, application forms and submissions instructions can be found at the below link.

Inaugural U-18 Canadian Curling Championships Begins Today


Many of Canada’s up-and-coming curling stars will get their first exposure to a national championship competition when the inaugural Canadian Under-18 Boys and Girls Curling Championships get underway in Moncton, N.B.

The event, for players ages 17 and under as of June 30, 2016, will be hosted jointly by Curl Moncton and the Superior Propane Centre in Moncton, and will feature teams from 12 Member Associations in each gender (Nunavut and Yukon did not enter teams).

Zachernuk Two Time Medalist in Mixed Doubles

Nick Zachernuk, second on the Nova Scotia Junior Men’s Team, earned the gold medal in the Canadian Juniors Mixed Doubles competition held during the Canadian Junior Curling Championships, just completed in Victoria, BC. This is the second medal for Nick in the discipline in as many years.  He won the silver medal in the Canadian Juniors Mixed Doubles last year in Stratford, Ontario.

All the curlers and coaches, except those in the playoffs, are paired into 42 Mixed Doubles teams, which are placed in a single knockout playdown on the last weekend of the Championship. Nick was teamed with Hailey Ryan, mate for the Manitoba women’s team, and Dean Kleiter, coach of the Saskatchewan men’s team.
