Peter Corkum was inducted into the prestigious Governor General’s Curling Club in a ceremony on Monday in Charlottetown.
Corkum, who curled out of Mayflower, is a three-time Brier representative for Nova Scotia as a third for Ron Franklin in 1965, 1967, and 1970.
He was also a long-time coach for the Colleen Jones team with a Scotties Tournament of Hearts championships in 1999.
He also coached the Mark Dacey team to a Brier championship in 2004 and a bronze medal at the 2004 World Curling Championships.
Corkum is currently coaching the Mary-Ann Arsenault team.
He is also a member of the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame.
Corkum joins a distinguished group of Nova Scotian members in the club, including Bill Harris, Graham Harris, Mathew Harris, Shirley Morash, Peter Hope, Gus Claveau and Ian MacDonald.
