SUMMARY:2021 Junior Men's and Women's Championships
DESCRIPTION:2021 Dates and Locations\n\nProvincial – Shelburne Curling Club\, Shelburne\, NS ~ October 21-24\, 2021 \nQualifications\nThe winner of this event will represent Nova Scotia at the 2022 World Junior Team Qualification Event to be held November 22 – 27\, 2021 in Saskatoon\, Saskatchewan. \nCoaching Requirements \nCoaches are required to have (prior to competition) a current Criminal Record Check\, a current Child Abuse Register\, Making Ethical Decisions (the Locker)\, Safe Sport Training (the Locker) and Competition Coach certification (course and evaluation). \nPractice and Schedule Info\n\nNSC will make every attempt to release the draw schedule roughly two weeks prior to the event. Teams competing in the event should make the appropriate travel & lodging arrangements to ensure they can be at the venue by 8 am on day the event is scheduled to start in case they have the first pre-event practice or first draw of the event. Events leading to a Canadian Championship and requiring a pre-event practice\, this schedule will be released with the completed draw. In the event there is a larger than expected number of teams and the pre-event practices and/or draw cannot be completed in the time allotted for the event\, then the schedule will be extended the necessary day(s) and practices/draw one will commence on the first scheduled day of the event. Information on pre-event and in event practices can be found here closer to the event. \n\nRules\nThis event is governed by NSC’s Competition Rules and Curling Canada’s Rules for Officiated Play. In the event there is conflicting information provided\, the NSC Competitions Director will make the final decision on which rule(s) will be used. \nNSC’s Junior Competition Rules can be viewed online here. \n\nAge Requirements\nAll athletes must be 20 years of age or less on June 30\, 2021 (as per World Curling Federation rules to be eligible for 2022 World Juniors). \nRegistrations \n\nAll information and registration for this event can be found on the Curling I/O page. \nTeams that have registered for the event will be listed in the team section of the event. Complete lineups for teams will only be displayed if each player on the team has a valid Curling I/O profile. All players in Nova Scotia are encouraged to create one. \nDeadline to register: September 21 at 11:59pm. \nCLICK HERE to register. \nEvent Disclaimers:\n\nIf there are less than 8 teams registered for any event at the deadline\, NSCA reserves the right to cancel the event.  All entry fees will be returned. \nNS Curling will follow the Public Health Guidelines and if we are unable to host competition\, entry fees will be returned to the person who paid the entry.  If a provincial winner is declared and the Canadian is not held in 2021\, neither provincial uniforms or team assistance will be issued to the winning team.  Further information will be available here once confirmation is received by Curling Canada – please check back. \nThe Competition Director reserves the right to change the Event format if less than 6 teams are registered. \n\nContact:\nQuestions about the 2021 Junior Championships?
