DESCRIPTION:The Assistant Curling Ice Technician course is the first step in the Ice Tech pathway! If you’re a volunteer at your club looking for more information on pebbling\, nipping and scraping this is the place for you. If you’re interested in starting a career as an Ice Tech this is your first step! \nCurling Canada and its Member Associations are committed to creating educational programs for individuals serving its member curling center’s in the role of Ice Technician. Whether assisting with the daily maintenance or installing ice for major competitions in arenas – Curling Canada has a training program for each of the roles these important individuals play in the sport of curling. We want all participants to have the very best environment and playing conditions wherever they choose to play. \nCurling Canada has two streams for its Ice Technician Training Program – Curling Centre and Competition. The Curling Centre Stream has two contexts – Assistant Curling Ice Technician and Head Ice Technician\, while the Competitions Context has one program\, the Competition Ice Technician Program. \nThe new program will be comprised of the following courses: Assistant Curling Ice Technician\, Head Ice Technician\, Competition Ice Technician Chief / Deputy Ice Technician \nWho – Bill Butts NS’s Head Ice Technician \nWhat to bring – On-ice gear and warm clothing & an iPad\, tablet or laptop (course materials are now found online) \nWhere – Chester CC \nWhen – Nov 22nd – 9am – 5pm \nWhy – to expand your knowledge on ice prep and more. \n***If you are not part of a NS Curling member club you will be contacted to pay an additional $125 fee. \nCC Assistant Ice Technician – Chester CC – Nov 22\, 2025 – Nova Scotia Curling
