SUMMARY:Curling Canada Ice Technician Program
DESCRIPTION:Prerequisite options to attend program: – Trained Assistant Curling Ice Technician – WCF – Intro to Ice Maintenance (online) – 1 year working at a Curling center under supervision of a certified Curling Ice Technician – Former Level 1 Ice Tech course – Former Facility Operator Assistant Course (Ontario) \nCurling Canada and its Member Associations are committed to creating educational programs for individuals serving its member curling center’s in the role of Ice Technician. Whether assisting with the daily maintenance or installing ice for major competitions in arenas – Curling Canada has a training program for each of the roles these important individuals play in the sport of curling. We want all participants to have the very best environment and playing conditions wherever they choose to play. \nCurling Canada has two streams for its Ice Technician Training Program – Curling Centre and Competition. The Curling Centre Stream has two contexts – Assistant Curling Ice Technician and Curling Ice Technician\, while the Competitions Context has one program\, the Competition Ice Technician Program. \nThe new program will be comprised of the following courses: 1) Assistant Curling Ice Technician 2) Curling Ice Technician 3) Competition Ice Technician Chief / Deputy Ice Technician \nWho – Bill Butts – NS’s Head Ice Technician What to bring – On-ice gear and warm clothing & an iPad\, tablet or laptop (course materials are now found online) Where – Truro Curling Club When – October 6th – 8th\, 2023 (Friday evening to Sunday) Why – To level up on ice making \nClick here to register.
