Whether you’re assisting with daily maintenance or preparing ice for high-level competitions\, our training programs are designed to ensure excellence in ice quality and playing conditions across the country. \nTraining Streams Curling Canada offers two primary training streams for Ice Technicians: \nCurling Centre Stream: – Assistant Curling Ice Technician – Curling Ice Technician \nCompetition Stream: – Competition Ice Technician (Chief / Deputy) \nThis new program will focus on in-depth instruction and practical experience relevant to your chosen path\, helping you grow in your role and elevate your facility’s ice standards. \nWho Should Attend? This course is ideal for individuals who are actively working in curling facilities and wish to advance their ice technician training. \nPrerequisites (must meet at least one): To attend this program\, participants must meet one or more of the following prerequisites: – Completion of the Assistant Curling Ice Technician course – Completion of the WCF – Intro to Ice Maintenance (online) – A minimum of 1 year working under the supervision of a certified Curling Ice Technician – Completion of the former Level 1 Ice Technician course – Completion of the former Facility Operator Assistant Course (Ontario) \nWhat to Bring – On-ice gear and warm clothing (you’ll be working in cold conditions) – iPad\, tablet\, or laptop (course materials are now accessed online) \nWhy Attend? DESCRIPTION:This NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program) accredited course is designed to help you and your team take the next step in competitive curling. As a coach\, you are required to have Competition Coach (In-Training to Certified) status to be eligible to coach at various Provincial events\, starting at the U18 level (see Rules at nscurl.com). Over two full days\, you’ll gain the skills and knowledge needed to effectively support a team – both in regular training and while preparing for bonspiels or provincial championships.
