Story

Andrea’s curling career began in her 30s when she was looking for a way to meet people in her area. It was at Glooscap Curling Club that she met Jocelyn Nix and a passion for curling was born. Andrea credits Jocelyn’s love of competition and the game with her continuing pursuit of excellence. The challenge of the game both physically and intellectually is what keeps her curling. 

Andrea’s record of success over the past nineteen years has included a whopping 11 provincial titles. Four Intermediate, one Senior Mixed, a Maritime Masters, five Nova Scotia Senior titles and a Provincial Scotties championship in 2017.  

At a club level Andrea continues to contribute to all the activities that a club must do to stay financially viable. She assists with fundraising activities for the juniors and the club in general. Andrea plays regularly in a recreational league and also spares with teams when they call on her. She has conducted clinics with her team to help beginner and intermediate curlers sharpen their skills.
