Story
Gerald Glinz, a retired RCMP officer from Truro, Nova Scotia, will go down in the history of the sport of curling as one of the greatest skips known in Nova Scotia. Born in Manitoba, Gerry is a great leader, shot maker and sweeper, and is the man who introduced the slide delivery to the game in Nova Scotia.
He skipped five rinks to the Nova Scotia Curling Championship. He has skipped in the provincial championships at the Halifax Curling Club in 1944 and 1945, Sydney Curling Club in 1948, and the Truro Curling Club in 1955 and 1956.
In winning those five provincial titles, he amassed 31 wins and only one defeat. Gerald Glinz was inducted into the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame in 1986.
