Grandmasters Men’s Championship
INTRODUCTION:
This initial newsletter is to introduce the Nova Scotia Grandmasters Curling Association and provide you with information about the Association. We have been active over the past few months building the Association and making arrangements to host our initial Provincial Championships.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT:
The mission of Nova Scotia Grandmasters Curling Association is to promote curling in Nova Scotia for men and women curlers aged 70 and older. The Association works in conjunction with the Nova Scotia Curling Association to host a Provincial Bonspiel to determine a Nova Scotia Grandmasters Champion for a men’s and a women’s team.
OUR GRANDMASTER ASSOCIATION:
The Association was modeled on the Ontario Grandmasters Association which has hosted Provincial Bonspiel for age 70+ curlers for the past 11 years. The Association has a Constitution and Bylaws, and is registered under the Nova Scotia Registry of Joint Stock Companies. The initial Executive team is in place. A Website has been constructed and the search is on for sponsors
OUR PROVINCIAL BONSPIEL:
The Association has an arrangement with the Nova Scotia Curling Association to undertake team registration and to officiate the event.
The Association has contracted with the Mayflower Curling Club to host the Provincial Bonspiel
The initial Nova Scotia Grandmasters Provincial Bonspiel will be held on March 7 to 9, 2018
The Bonspiel will be an open registration with the first 12 men’s teams and the first 12 women’s team to enter.
