NCCP Club Coach – Dartmouth CC – Dec 7 & 8, 2024

The focus of this workshop is on learning to create an environment where junior curlers can continue to develop their skills, and adult curlers can learn the skills and etiquette of the game in a safe, non-threatening manner. This NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program) It is primarily designed for coaches/instructors who will be working with adult or juniors playing recreationally within the club or interclub leagues. It’s also suitable for instructors who conduct Learn to Curl and Advanced Clinics within the club.

Topics covered in the Competition Coach workshop: – Role of the coach and organizational management – Game orientation, rules & etiquette – Safety – Warm-ups & cool-downs – The curling delivery – Introduction to strategy – Brushing – Ethical coaching – Clinics – Skill analysis – Special interest groups

The course will run on Saturday & Sunday from 9am to 5pm. Bring a lunch and your on-ice gear!
