Curling Canada has an opportunity to make use of extra arena ice at this season’s U SPORTS / CCAA / Mixed Doubles Championships in Fredericton. They are going to pilot a a U25 Mixed Doubles event and a U18 Mixed Doubles event running concurrently to the main events. These are to be considered test events and not championships and will be operated by Curling Canada. They would like to have 2 teams per Atlantic province in each event, but will backfill if necessary from other entries.
The U25 Mixed Doubles event will take place from March 15-17, 2019 and the U18 Mixed Doubles event will take place from March 22-24, 2019. Both events will take place on arena ice at the Willie O’Ree Centre in Fredericton.
The entry fee for both events is $100/team with all entry fees being returned as prize money. Each round robin game winner will receive $30 per team. Playoffs: 1st – $140; 2nd – $100; 3rd – $80; 4th – $40 (per team).
All teams must be accompanied by a coach who is 21 years old and over with a minimum Competition Coach Trained (Competition Introduction).
